The image of reclining on the grass is like a special ritual, a dreamy inactivity, an activity rarely accessible to modern man. The work is intended, among other things, to engage the viewer's mirror neurons, appealing to their physicality and conveying a sense of inactive activity and serenity.

The endless steppe in this painting reinforces this impression; here, truly, there is nothing to strive for—one can only listen.

The women in my paintings always exist in the space of authentic being, in the pause between, awaiting the next events, the next movement. They peer within themselves and into the distance, anticipating what will happen next, but they do not rush or rush the process. They are in a contemplative process of active presence.
