Swimmer is rooted in Fragile Realism, exploring the body through movement, light and the changing surface of water. I am interested in the moment when the figure becomes almost inseparable from her surroundings, when the body is seen through fragments of colour and reflection rather than as a complete form.
The water becomes as important as the figure itself. Its translucent surface holds the light and alters everything beneath it, making the scene feel both physical and fleeting. I paint this moment not to describe movement exactly, but to preserve the sensation of it — suspended between stillness and motion.
