St. Peter Ording is rooted in Fragile Realism, where a landscape is experienced through atmosphere rather than simply described. I am drawn to the quiet relationship between the open sky, the sea and the small figures moving through the vastness of the beach. The scale of the landscape makes the human presence feel delicate, while the dog and its movement bring a sense of intimacy to the scene.

I am interested in the way light changes the character of a place. Here, the shifting sky and pale sand create a moment that feels almost weightless, while the traces left across the beach quietly record movement. I paint these impressions as they appear to me, allowing the landscape to remain open, fragile and alive.
