Metaphorically, water is feminine; flooding, high water—the depths one must dive into during a crisis with a woman and her world—is capable of "flooding" humanity—and also of rising with the image itself, which also requires diving, changing, and allowing oneself to be submerged a little. Waiting, the active inaction expressed in the paintings through poses and moods—are primordially feminine processes and primordially Siberian processes with a protracted winter and the ability to wait patiently—processes we forget about in our modern pace, but within them, as in nature, lies the anticipated spring, a tremendous resource and strength.

The inevitability of some processes, among other things, leads to us not adapting the world to ourselves, but surrendering and adapting ourselves. And this surrender is a blessed one; it doesn't stop life, but, on the contrary, continues.
