In Light Passing Through, translucent layers of white soften the intensity of the red ground while vertical traces draw the surface downward. Small areas of yellow remain visible within this shifting field, creating a sense of light held inside the painting.

TOVA works with the contrast between density and transparency, allowing one state to remain visible through another. The image does not describe a fixed horizon. Instead, dawn emerges as a gradual passage, where colour changes through contact with what has already been placed on the canvas.
