Latent Aperture is organised around a central opening that appears to emerge from beneath the surface. Horizontal red bands remain partially visible behind a dense white form, while a pale beige block at the top holds the composition in a state of suspension. Dark fragments near the lower edge introduce weight and keep the image from resolving into a stable balance.

The work develops through tension between concealment and disclosure. The white impasto both interrupts and reveals the structure beneath it, creating the sense that the painting is being uncovered even as it is being covered over. A small circular mark at the centre acts as a point of concentration, drawing the surrounding movement inward.

Rather than presenting a fixed image, Latent Aperture suggests a moment in which form is still becoming visible. The composition holds together through pressure, interruption and the quiet persistence of what remains underneath.
