In Bunny, Polina Lis transforms a familiar and seemingly harmless animal into an ambiguous fictional creature. Its enlarged ears and compact body remain immediately recognisable, yet subtle distortions move the image away from naturalistic representation.

The restrained composition gives the figure an unusual presence, allowing attention to settle on its expression and posture. Positioned between observation and invention, the work reflects Lis’s interest in creating a personal mythology from images rooted in childhood memory and the natural world.
