TOVA Nuts
In a nutshell, every nut holds a kernel, and this is precisely why TOVA NUTS (all rights reserved) exist as sculptural art works by TOVA, in which scientific knowledge, visual form and emotional states are brought into a single whole. Each work is created as part of a series, carrying its own theme, rhythm and research foundation, while together the works form a coherent artistic system through the NUT shape. It is this form that makes TOVA’s visual language recognisable and transforms each series into a spatial, object-based and multidimensional statement.

At the core of TOVA NUTS lies the very meaning of the word nut: from the Old English hnutu, through the Proto-Germanic hnut- / hnuts, to a deeper Indo-European root associated with the nut, the shell and the kernel. The same semantic line is linked to the Latin nux and, through it, to the word nucleus — the core.

This is why TOVA NUTS are built around the idea of a solid shell, an inner kernel, a hidden essence and a value that asks to be approached. Within TOVA’s artistic system, that kernel takes the form of statistical data aesthetically transformed into a painting. NUT means the nut, the core and the essence enclosed within a shell.
